COMPLIANCE

Toy Safety Standards & Certifications

Every TQR robot dog toy ships with the test reports and market-access documents your customs broker and retailer will ask for. We test at CPSC-accepted third-party laboratories, keep the paperwork current, and hand it over with the order — documents available for importers on request.

United States — CPC & ASTM F963-23

Children's products need a Children's Product Certificate backed by testing at a CPSC-accepted lab. Our US program is covered by ASTM F963-23 testing and a CPC under CPSC Lab ID 1566, with CPSIA and heavy-metals reporting on file.

European Union — EN 71, CE-RED & RoHS 2.0

EU toys carry CE marking under the Toy Safety Directive, with EN 71 parts 1, 2 and 3 covering mechanical properties, flammability and element migration. Our 2.4GHz radio models also hold CE-RED documentation, and RoHS 2.0 (Directive 2011/65/EU) covers restricted substances in the electronics.

UN 38.3 — Lithium Battery Transport

Lithium cells and batteries must pass the UN 38.3 tests before transport. We hold UN 38.3 reports for our battery capacities, so the cells in every robot dog are documented for the carrier.

DGM — Sea & Air Freight Appraisals

DGM cargo transport appraisal reports for both sea and air freight, so lithium-battery shipments clear the forwarder and customs without a last-minute hold-up.

These reports cover every model in our five-model robot dog range — from the TQR-02 quadruped platform to the TQR-16 8-wheel stunt dog. For the filing routine behind US entry, read our guide to CPSC eFiling for toy imports; for battery chemistry and how lithium packs ship, see LiPo vs NiMH for RC robot dog toys.

IMPORTING FAQ

Toy Certification Questions, Answered

The questions importers and distributors ask us most often before their first order.

What certifications do I need to import robot dog toys into the United States?

Children's products sold in the US need a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) issued by the manufacturer or importer, supported by third-party testing at a CPSC-accepted laboratory. For toys, the core test standard is ASTM F963. Our US program runs on ASTM F963-23 testing with a CPC under CPSC Lab ID 1566, and battery-operated models also ship under UN 38.3 reports.

What is a CPC certificate?

A CPC — Children's Product Certificate — is the document in which the manufacturer or importer certifies that a children's product meets the applicable US safety rules, based on testing at a CPSC-accepted third-party lab. We hold CPCs for our export models and share them with importers on request.

Is ASTM F963-23 the current version?

ASTM F963-23 is the revision our products are currently tested to, covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability and heavy-element migration. The standard is revised periodically — confirm the version your retailer or broker requires, and we will test to the revision that applies.

What do I need for the EU — EN 71 and CE?

EU toys carry CE marking under the Toy Safety Directive, with EN 71 covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability and element migration. Radio-controlled models such as our 2.4GHz robot dogs are also radio equipment, so CE-RED documentation applies, and RoHS 2.0 covers restricted substances in the electronics.

Do lithium batteries in RC toys need UN 38.3?

Yes. Lithium cells and batteries must pass the UN 38.3 tests before they can be offered for transport. We hold UN 38.3 reports across our battery capacities plus DGM sea and air transport appraisals, so the shipment is documented end to end.

Can you supply the reports with my order?

Yes. We share the reports and certificates that apply to your ordered models, and certification support is part of our OEM/ODM program — CPC, ASTM F963-23, EN 71, RoHS 2.0, UN 38.3 and DGM sea and air appraisals. Tell us your market and channel and we will confirm exactly which documents apply.
